Builth Wells High School, Powys, Mid Wales
All the students attending the Sixth Form in Builth Wells High School
follow the Welsh Baccalaureate. The third cohort of students will complete
the Advanced Diploma this summer.
There are 130 students in the Sixth Form following a broad range of AS/A2
subjects in their Options. The school is bilingual and students are able
to pursue some courses/ subjects in either English or Welsh.
The school has excellent international links, including with the USA,
Australia, Spain and Italy, and organises exchanges with other schools
which enable students to integrate the 'Language Module' and 'Working with
an Employer' parts of the Core with the exchange programme.
In September 2006, the school started the Pilot for the pre-16
Foundation/Intermediate Award with a group of 20 year 10 students.
